Topic: Frothy glass - Nazeing?

Could I ask for some help please.  I am not sure if this vase is Nazeing or other, the colour isn't as green as the Nazeing greens I have seen before, and the bubbles not as swirly. There is a fairly wide mossy wear ring to the underside, and an unfinished pontil.

I don't think it is. There are a lot of small posy bowls that have a similar look and I don't think they ever got tracked down.

There are a number of posts on here by me which explain this vase. Look for Elwell...... and Nazeing.

Hi Nigel, thanks, I saw some of your threads, but the bubbles on those vases looked much more swirled, where this is almost up and down. But I'll have another look...

thanks Nigel, I think looking at the description of the bubbles that is pretty definitely Nazeing. All the Nazeing I have had before has had a nicely finished ground pontil, this is much rougher with an oval snap , does this mean an earlier or later piece? And does this pale eau de nil type green have a Nazeing colour name?

Lynne just for reference,  I also have a bowl id'd as Elwell Nazeing and it has a very similar base to that and also the snapped off pontil mark, looks very similar to your vase.

Sorry Lynne, no I don't.  I'm not sure the Elwell Nazeing pieces have colour names 
Personally I liked Eau de Nil  pretty, but probably not the best search words

Really? I thought that my explanations were more accurate than that, but if that's your conclusion................................

Flying Free has at least recognised the Elwell faction that is necessary to be accurate!

As for colour names for these pieces - we aren't aware of any. Certainly there is no evidence at this point in time.
