Topic: Ribbed optic vase - Strombergshyttan perhaps?

I'm new to glass collecting (and glassmessages.com).  Bought this blue ribbed optic vase from a junk shop and am struggling to identify where it's from.  Have seen similar optic vases in other colours that have been suggested as Whitefriars or Strombergshyttan.  Leaning towards latter as Whitefriars examples appear to be clear cased and this is not.  Have scoured the web looking for examples but not found much to help.

It's about 12 inches tall, about 6 inches at widest diameter and weighs just under 2.5kg.  It has no marks or signatures.

I'd really appreciate any help in attributing maker/designer.  Links to images below.

Hi and welcome to the Board.

The piece doesn't remind of Stromberghshyttan (the mouth, the base and even the colour). And Strombergshyttan marked their pieces. Sorry I can't be more constructive.

Been doing some image browsing for WMF and found the following that design wise are not a million miles from my piece.  It's almost like a missing link between the two though whether that's just wishful thinking on my part is another matter.

Hi Jeff,
the sellers are almost accurate....  
Number one is correctly described; number two is not a ´Felicitas´, which is a design by Richard
Lauke for VLG (Vereinigte Lausitzer Glaswerke - United Lausitian Glasworks), but it is a design
by Wilhelm Wagenfeld for VLG.
Sorry I can´t be of further help. I´ve seen a few of these vases over the years, but never ever a
labelled one.
Theresienthal might be a further candidate. They used this colour and technique, but mind this
example is mould-blown with a ground and polished rim - and - like elsewhere successful designs
have usually been ´adopted´ by other glassworks:

Interesting.  If you've never seen a labelled one I'd say that's promising in that it's consistent with mine.  Found another Wagenfeld example that has similarities.

WMF/VLG appear to be the primary candidates right now.

  Well, that´s not a Wagenfeld, but a design by Wilhelm Radtke for WMF. Please don´t expect too much accuracy
from sellers; just keep a healthy cautiousness.
Perhaps my earlier comment was a bit short... Your vase for sure is neither one of Wilhelm Wagenfeld´s designs, which
are quite well documented, nor is it VLG production (none of their documented colours).
Unfortunately we (so far - let´s wait and see) can only find some similarities to WMF and Theresienthal production, which
doesn´t exclude the possibility we´re all completely on the wrong track...
I know - it´s not much, but it´s a start at least....

Thanks.  Whoever it's by it's a lovely thing.  Would be nice if we can solve the mystery but will be enjoyed regardless
