Possibly Whitefriars possibly something else
« on: July 21, 2011, 10:54:38 PM »
Hi all

I've asked whitefriars.com about this paperwieght and the reaction has been inconclusive so far.  It is incredibly reminscient of a catalogued Whitefriars doorstop (see first link) but people who know more than me advise it's not a catalogued w/f paperweight shape and the polished base doesn't look right.

If anyone can identify it as something else from the pics linked below that would be most helpful.
Thanks

Your weight has been giving me some thought for a while moreso now i have seen  the birdseye view , the bubbles are controled in a very similar pattern to the W/Fs weights the colour looks right and the shape is like a small version of the very large green doorstop , i have also seen a flat polished base on some of the bubbled weights so would would not discount it yet . :X:

I think the confusion may have been caused by the odd lighting in the first two pictures that make it look Arctic Blue. Or maybe that's just my monitor?

Cheers all. The colour is flint.  It's the lighting and my poor photography skills that have made it look blue.
