Jobling amber frosted glass lady with grapes figure
« on: July 27, 2011, 03:29:23 PM »
Hi everyone
I have today managed to pick up an amber frosted glass lady by Jobling. She is the Grecian style lady holding a bunch of grapes to the side of her head.
I am looking to do a swap for her if anyone is interested?
I am currently looking for Walther pieces for my collection.
Please feel free to ask for more details and I can add pics later if wanted.
Thanks in advance Nige

Hi Gareth
Thanks for your message.
I am mainly looking for some of more infrequent pieces of Walther which I know will be hard to find.I have a list of my wants which are mainly the more expensive pieces such as Haarlem,Eisbar bookends,Koalas in amber or green or pink,Petri, etc.
I would love to find a green/blue part frosted Essen bowl or an amber Groningen bowl or blue Diana bowl.
I haven't really seen much of their cloud glass.
Do you have anything in Walther that you think I may be interested in?
Best wishes Nigel

Hi Nigel..... From the pieces you identified unfortunately I dont really have anything of that level of calibre that might be of interest to you....I have yet to come across a "Walther" collector that is equally passionate about Oralit and the single coloured wares.
With that in mind and no chattels with which to barter with I am left wondering if I might be able to convince you of the intrinsic attractiveness of coins of the realm...???..and plus you dont need to keep them in boxes due to lack of display facilities...!!....please advise if that is an option please.

Many regards

Gareth

Hi Nigel

Having moved not long ago my Walther apart from a couple of lamps is in crates and boxes.....amazing how much space glass demands sometimes..... I'll try to dig some of them out and let you know.....Using the 1936 Walther catalogue as a reference point are there any particular shapes/types/designs that you are looking for..... actually when looking at the catalogue it seems a great shame they didn't all all of the designs in Oralit ....particularly some of the magnificent bowls and centrepieces.
Apart from that did you consider the possibility of selling the Joblings please.

Regards

Gareth

Hi Gareth
If you don't have any of the Walther cloud I mentioned then I am willing to sell the Jobling lady.
Is £75 any good?

Hi Nigel

Unfortunately I do not have the bowls mentioned....The Shamrock is rare having only seen one example and of the Poseidon I dont know anyone who has seen one at all.... shame as its a superb piece.
Many thanks for your offer but as the figure has a few chips and no base could I respectfully offer £50 for this please.

Regards and thanks

Gareth
