Bohemian Overlay Glass
« on: August 03, 2011, 05:49:24 PM »
Is there any way to identify the factory - I've seen one described on a website as Harrach.

Also, is it Victorian?

Any help greatly appreciated.
Many thanks, Anthony

I'd say made by Crystalex going off this labelled ahtray:

As for age, I think they were made for quite a few years, but not as old as Victorian I don't think, maybe around 1940's - 1970's ish.  Someone else might know more.

Might have been in production quite a bit later than the 1970s.

I bought an example in the early 1990s. Same shape vase, white over pale green, same basic floral decoration (almost identical in the detail but with subtle variations). There is still almost no wear on the base. And I was told by the dealer I bought it from that these were regularly available at the time from an early-morning London outdoor "antiques market".
