Obviously the facetiousness of my response was not evident.  The number of "Small vases" I have seen that were obviously perfumes originally is almost apocryphal infinite it seems.

on my two a stopper would not fit snuggly as the top of the vase comes out there is grooves so surley the perfume would evaporate?

Perfume bottle can be a nominal term for a small decorative bottle with a stopper, not necessarily something to be used.

Look at the rest of the sellers glass, nearly all antique vintage...  :or: some of which is as old as 20th century...  :ra: obviously managed to buy job lots of 'rare' pieces too...  :tof: favourite price is $299.99  :24:

Just that it might look like a perfume bottle if it has a stopper, but that doesn't mean you're actually supposed to use it.
