Frosted Wave Vase Poss Czech?
« on: August 10, 2011, 02:33:04 AM »
Hello All

I have just received this wonderful vase.  It is 20cm tall and 8cm across the top.  The base has the "bird bath" type of indentation associated with Sklo Union (see, I learning!) but I never really know.  I have searched on this board with various key words and found nothing.  Can anyone help with ID and decade/year made.  Unsigned with wear on the base. A wave design on all four sides in frosted glass with the clear portion of each side jutting out also in a wave (does that make sense?).

Many thanks to you all.  :sun:

Designed by Frantisek Peceny for Hermanova 1975, pattern number 20282/20.  It was also made in clear.

Very nice vase.  :hi:

I adore the blue one you have.   Do you know if Czech glass had  a large retail presence in the US in the 70s?  There seems to be quite a few bits around and I can't see anyone from this country going over there at that time.  :sun:

My vase isn't blue, it's clear...  I'm just a poor photographer. :kissy:

Unfortunately, I can't answer your question about retail presence in the US though I suspect it was pretty strong. :hi:

There were a lot of importers of Czech glass in the US.
