So Pretty ....... Blue Bowl
« on: August 16, 2011, 07:24:50 AM »
 :hi: there:

I bought this for a few dollars at an Antique Store in another town.  It is such pretty colors!!  It is 6 inches by 6 inches by 3.25 inches high.  Very Solid, heavy piece.  Bottom has very good wear on it for age.   Not sure if this is a Candy Bowl, or an Ashtray, or just a Bowl ??  Pretty shades of blue with a tint of Green.  I bought it for the Color.  I have no idea, but IF I were to guess..........maybe Chalet ??  but not sure, but does have good base wear.

Any ideas?

Thanks, as always!!  :kissy:

:smg:  ......and YES, it does *Glow*

Rose:

My guess on this one is Chalet. They did a "four butt" (not my choice of words) ashtray and these colours were used by Chalet. One of the nicer Chalet pieces I've seen.

Hey Rose, you know how I mentioned Vetro Artistico Veneziano for your other bowl?  Well I was just doing one of my usual searches through ebay when I came across this:

300588996452

Looks similar to this blue bowl, and has the Vetro Artistico Veneziano label found on the other bowls.

To be honest though, I think this design might be done by a few makers.  Here's some by Mandruzzato:

I think this is a different shape Wayne. It doesn't have the sort of outer row of lower lobes.

I agree that this could be by a number of makers, but I still favour Chalet. And remember, all the Chalet glass-makers were originally from Murano.

Thanks all -- I love the color of this, and a Nice Big Chunk of glass that Glows too

I have been digging around some too, and I am thinking this might be Chalet ?? but still hard to tell the maker on this one.  It is kinda missing those pulled lobes on the outside but still does have the influence of Murano.

I am not sure IF this one I found on Ebay (might ??) be the same, or not.  Kinda looks the same with the 4 butt corners......IMHO......and it is marked with Chalet on the Bottom.

See what you think ?? 310104063386 ?? .  This (I think) looks like my bowl.  It is called a Chalet Floriform Bowl there...

Whatever it is, I love the Blue Color (kinda a teal color) and the fact that this *hunk* of Glass Glows too.  That was a Double + +  for  me.

Rose, I was looking at something tonight and I ran across a signed ICET amber bowl that looks like your bowl. ICET did do uranium work. I can't post the pictures here because they are not mine. I'll email them to you and you can decide if it is the same bowl.
