Amber bowl ( erik hoglund ) date
« on: August 16, 2011, 10:30:27 PM »
Hi, found this on a car boot and had it stored for a while, presumably Erik Hoglund H680 (16) and wondered what is the date of the bowl. ?
Many thanks

No need to presume, it says Erik Hoglund on the label and is engraved with the appropriate mark. ;D
The /16 or is it /165 refers to the size (approximately) so about 16cm in diameter?

The design date is probably late 1950s, it may be possible to date production by the style of the label but I don't have that information, my guess would be late 60s or very early seventies.

Display the bowl in a window, that amber colour sparks into life with a bit of sunshine.

John

Hi:

A suggestion. Do not put your art glass in a window where it will be subject to direct sun light.

You will come home one day and find it exploded.

A gallery lost a major graal work of Eva Englund by presenting her work in a picture window.
