I have to say you have the most unusual collection Ross....each piece is so interesting. I thought I knew my Scandi glass, but had never heard of Slajaglas.....I will keep a look out for it.
What is the flat backed piece on the botton row with the green label? Is it an animal or a map shape?
It really is a fascinating collection......keep taking pictures...I'm sure you have a couple of other pieces of glass!!

Thanks Ross, I have seen a couple of glass maps from Scandi companies, but didn't recognise your Austrian one. I don't think I have any Austrian glass.....but it has made me think.....is Bleikristall Austrian?.....off to find out!!

Hi Ross (IMHO) I don't believe the plate is a Monart piece. Monart did not do that shape with an inverted lip, though Vasart and Strathearn did.

Ross, that is the part of Austria I am coming from!
It isn't the shape of Austria, but that of Styria in the South-East of Austria (easily recognizable by the piggy shape
), "Steiermark" in German, so "Steirisches Glas" means Styrian glass.
Never heard of that maker, but Oberglas Bärnbach is in Styria...

Thank you for all opur contributions.
Gary - I started a topic
http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php?topic=47412.new;topicseen#new
and lo and behold it is actually early Mdina - 1970 - 1972 I am told. A most pleasant surprise as it was simply a 'like it' buy on Ebay.
Michael - I am fascinated that I now know someone from that area. I will be Googloing to find out more.
