Caithness Neodymium
« on: August 25, 2011, 10:59:55 PM »
I have been looking up old posts on neodymium glass and find many relating to Caithness. This leaves me pondering the question - how many ranges were made in neodymium? It isn't mentioned in Mark Hill's excellent book, so I thought I would post here how many pieces I have and people can add to.

The age range seems to be 60s/70s right up to 2000s

Rose Bowl 4071 / 70s with label (see photo)
Rose Bowl 4071 (small) 1990s 2000s with label
Floral vase B106CA14 / 90s (see photo)
4002 Birds 1975 engraved by Elaine Swanson (see photo)
Rose Bowl 5043 from Tranquility range 1990s
CT117 / 1990s with label

I have quite a lot Adam - can't post photos just now - off to work - but will add some later. I know I have a very early lamp base - Domnhall O Broin design, which is neodymium, plus lots of later stuff.

Also ;
Erica perfume bottle
Pebble paperweight

Also have barrel vase (hummingbird engraved)
Romeo & Juliet tall vase
and stroma bud vase - but no photos handy of those.

At one point everything I bought from Caithness seemed to be neodymium!

good job I like it  :)

Thanks Anne. yes I like the lampbase too - would like to get a fitting and use it properly as a lamp again.
One of these days I 'll take it down to the electrical store!

Thanks everyone for posting in this thread.

Interesting to see how long Caithness made different pieces in neodymium - below is a large rose bowl with 60s 70s label alongside a small rose bowl with 2000s label which gives a good idea of time period - 45 to 50 years?

Also shown is 5043 rose bowl - Tranquility range and CT117 from Shakespeare range.
