« on: August 29, 2011, 03:16:25 PM »
Find of the last weekend - a labeled Skrdlovice vase, designed by Ladislav Oliva. 31cm :hi:

...and a question to Jindrich: is this vase also pattern 7919/30???

Hi Kevin, great vase!
But I think it is not Oliva but Ladislav Palecek, 1974 (can't find the pattern nr. at the moment)

Michael

Thank you!

It is exactly the same shape, and please excuse the following question... i am no glass expert...

...so Palecek and Oliva used the same shape with their own designs?

Thx Kevin

Hi Kevin, I think the shape in Skrdlovice designs is not necessarily the distinguishing feature...
For instance, Vizner, Palecek, Svoboda, Zertova, etc. all designed those heavy zylindrical vases, but using different internal decoration.
But there are more knowledgeable people here who could set me straight :)

BTW, your vase can be seen on the Beranek glassworks website, PN is 7420/32, Ladislav Palecek.
