GLS glass paperweight
« on: August 16, 2011, 06:54:29 PM »
Good evening everyone

I wondered if someone might be kind enough to help me identify the maker of a small glass paperweight I have. Its got a sticker on the bottom: clear sticker with large black letter "G", smaller "L" inside that and then a smaller still "S"

If needed I can post a photo

Any help you can give would be very much appreciated

Many thanks
Sarah

A photo of the weight and the label would be appreciated - we like to see photos. :)

Hi there,

It looks like a Liskeard glass studio label to me, but I have never seen one of their labels just their impressed mark (and it is very similar to your label).

Not to worry, I am sure someone will come along to confirm/infirm this ID.

Sophie

The impressed mark here, a little different but maybe changed the style over time will see if I can find a paper on.

Not the best photo but if you blow it up and tip your computer upside you can see it's the same label  :sun:

Liskeard Studio glass 1968 to 1973 I think now Merlin glass.

Thanks both of you. I had seen a Liskeard mark before but a different one to those two. Definately the same as the last image though. Wonderful.

I've just started collecting a few bits of glass I like so its nice to know what I have. I just buy what I like the look of.

Thanks again
