Very Large Polar Bear
« on: October 18, 2012, 09:17:31 PM »
This one is in all probability European...it sure doesn't match any U.S. bear. 8 1/2" length, 5 1/2" height & 3" width...weighs a ton. Bottom has wear all around base. Thought maybe Hoffman, but could not find it. Thanks for any possible attribution.  Ken

Thanks. Goebel did make two types of polar bears, but they are 1/2 the size of this one, unless its an older Goebel bear that I cannot find. Ken

Ok, very sure it's a Goebel polar bear

Well I'll be....I Googled Goebel polar bear after your response & went through about 10 pages & did not find that...only the two other sizes. What search term did you use? Maybe I need to brush up on search terms after all these years. Guess its at least a bit older according to the auction & over 6lbs weight...I can verify that. I also went thru just about every manufacturer I could think of before I posted...Scandinavian & European & came up empty not to mention current & completed eBay auctions numbering over 1K & no dice as everything was alot smaller so I own you one thats for sure. Thanks, Ken
