First time I bought a figure, this one is 22.5cm tall approx, the base is etched with "B800 220".

can't help with the mark (but off to have a look see if I can  :)) but just wondering if she is 22.4cm tall that could be the 220 bit (give or take a bit for hand blown)

The only company that springs to mind with a Bxxx mark is Strombergshyttan - but I have never seen anything like this from them.

This is FM/Marcolin, Ronneby, Sweden. B-800-220 Dancing girl

Marcolin had a series called "Dancing girl"

B = designed by Benito Marcolin
800 = model number
220 = 220 mm

Your Dancing girl is from early 1970's.

Here is a picture of my Dancing girl. Mine is not signed but I think it is B-810.

Thanks Inca. Do I take it that these were not made in very great numbers? or are there many out there to be discovered?

On eBay some FM models (for instance swan, owl) show up all the time. Some models show up seldom or not at all, so it's difficult to answer your question.
I come across "Dancing girl" very seldom which could indicate that they were not made in great numbers, but it's difficult to say for certain.

There are six different Dancing girls, in sizes 220mm and 300mm.

Here is one more picture of my Dancing girl, this time together with a girl/lady from Marcolin's "Rock 'n' Roll" series.
