Not much else to say really. I have no idea it isn't what I'd usually buy ... My only wild guess would be Scottish (?)

I've photographed the signature and engraved design. To my untrained eye the signature appears to be of better execution than the actual pattern.

Signature looks like it says Pete R...... or PeteR....... ...

Any comments would be helpful.

Looks like possibly Peter MaConal to me??? or something along those lines  :-\ ... but I've not looked to see if such a person exists.

Could I snaffle a copy of your photos above for the page I'm hoping to build about Patrick, in due course please?

I should add that these pieces - yours, Adam's and mine, are what I would call the bread and butter range. Cheap and cheerful. Patrick was a very able engraver who produced some stunning work, none of which we've yet seen on the board. One day I hope to be able to show you just what he was capable of. :)

yes, you can use the photos

bread and butter - I saw a piece that had horses. you could really see the talent in that work.
