Any idea who may have made this nice vase?

Organic 1950s shape with pulled rim, threads of white glass in clear glass (these are inside the glass, but can be felt from the outside).
Ground and polished pontil, height appr. 20 cm.

Has a silver and blue Murnano label to the base with a rooster(?) and the letters "AR".

Thanks!
Michael

This seems to be the most information we have on that label at least:

http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-1910

You can always search for Murano labels in Anne's GlassGallery: 101 Murano Labels - http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/thumbnails.php?album=102&page=1

Thanks a lot, Max!

I had already looked through the label section of the glassgallery site, and seen this label. The info there didn't help much further :)
So I was hoping that either the letters "AR" on the label, or the technique of the vase (is there some Murano glassmaking term for it?) might help identifying a maker.

Interesting then.  Now we have AS, AF and AR found on that same label.

Interestingly the shape and design is very similar to some Scandi pieces...need to pull out some books...a very interesting label I agree... :spls:

Wow, Ivo, thank you so much!! -- I am stunned (as usual :))

My first misplaced label... (the position at the base seemed a little odd, though)
And this time I was so sure to have put my request in the right sub-forum ;D -- could some kind mod move this thread to the Scandi board, please?

Internet search for Sixten Wennerstrand showed several almost identical pieces (although here is one that seems to have a Bengt Orup signature)

Anyway, a very nice vase (and being Scandi it fits much better in my collection)

I think Swedish is better valued than Italian from the same period - and it is better in character. I have an identical one.

Thanks, Ivo!
Obviously I liked it a lot, as I don't buy generic Murano usually (well, it was quite cheap too, I have to admit).
And thanks mods for moving the thread!
