Information about Decanter Made in Italy--Florentine Original?
« on: September 13, 2011, 01:29:17 AM »
I picked up this beauty at a garage sale.  I don't know much about it beyond it's label stating "Florentine Original, Made in Italy" and I'm relatively sure it's smoked glass, hand blown.  I would appreciate if anyone could give me more in-depth information about it.  :)  Thanks!

Aka genii bottle, made in Empoli (which is in Firenze province) some time in the seventies.

I have never seen one with a label before. I can't tell from your photos, what sort of textured pattern does it have?

A few more examples in this thread: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,38224.msg210699.html#msg210699

It's a bit like disturbed water pattern.  i.e. ripples meeting and crashing, etc.  Thanks for the information all.  :)

It looks like one of the popular types of bottle made by Rossini.
