Photos against a white background will let us see the vase better please. Coloured glass on coloured backgrounds rarely work very well.

Having problems getting a decent photo set up right now due to house chaos but I have managed to get this picture taken that shows colour better.  Anyone got any ideas?  Want to ebay it soon and would be nice to attribute it to a country if not a specific designer/factory.

Update on this query which raises more questions than it answers.  Have seen a very similar vase advertised on ebay as potentially being depression glass.  Is this likely?

Depression glass is a term that should be reserved for American glass from the 1920s/30s.

Your vase is more likely to be Czech, German or something similar. Do you know that it is uranium glass? Have you tested it with a UV light and got a very bright green glow? If it is uranium, it could be 1930s through to early 1950s. If it isn't it could be 1930s through to 1960s.

Have you looked through  here and the catalogues here

Unfortunately, that period produced a plethora of slightly geometric pressed glass vases and green was a popular colour, so ...

I thought as much about the depression glass tag but as a result of my limited (though growing) knowledge I don't like to discount without more expert advice.  My initial hunch was Czech 1950's.  Those are some comprehensive resources though.  I'm sure I might find something useful.  Already spotted something by Niemen that has a V similar form and virtually identical base so who knows.

It definitely is uranium btw.  I have a small UV light and it's bright enough to scare the neighbours into thinking the aliens have landed under it.

Thanks again for your wisdom
