Heavyweight vase, ID anybody ?
« on: February 26, 2006, 12:52:20 PM »
Help, I was at a fair this morning and this called out to me from amongst a  sea of indifferent pottery,  it's 8 inches high x 6 1/2 across the widest part of the top, the walls are over 1/2 inch thick with a deeply ground pontil and a good wear ring on the base.

The white + purple splodges along with some air bubbles are in the middle of the thick glass (double cased ?) and 2.7 Kg explains my tired arms when I got it home, it obviously has some age to it.

That's an odd one!  It has me scratching my head anyway!    The deep well at the bottom is curious.  I assume it must have been ground out...but odd that it's so deep....I wonder why?

Hope you get some answers, I'm interested too.
