Is this sun damage?
« on: February 23, 2006, 11:46:12 AM »
I have heard that sun can damage glass and give it a lilac tinge.  I think I have actually seen it on old pressed glass, however I'm not so sure about this piece.  What do you think?

For comparison I have placed another vase of the same type either side.  As you can see the middle vase base is quite lilac in colour.

I think you may be talking about 'purpling'.  If you Search for 'purpling' you'll find quite a long thread discussion about that topic.  :)
