Topic: Boda candy dish, signed -- Bertil Vallien or Erik Höglund?

Found this nice teal-blue candy dish today, bought it from a guy living in Denmark (he had great Holmegaard and other Scandi glass for sale).

Remembered vaguely that I had seen a similar one with a Bertil Vallien sticker (here it is); but what does the signature "H 1334 / 53" mean then?
Doesn't the "H" refer to Erik Höglund?

Any info very much appreciated!

Would you think that the signature was applied by mistake? (I suspect that these pieces are not usually signed?)
And what does the number refer to regarding designer, year, range etc.?

BTW, I forgot to add dimensions: 14 cm wide, 17 cm high

I have seen this attributed in a couple of places on line to Vallien and it somehow looks more 'Vallien' to me than 'Hoglund'.

With Erik Hoglund's stuff the first number is the design number and the second number (/xx) is the size in millimeters. I think it is less likely that the engraving was added by mistake and more likely that it was added later with the intention of deception. none of my Hoglund pieces have a / after the H which this piece appears to have.
I wonder if it is correctly signed but because it is an H, it may not necessarily mean Hoglund?

This is Bertil Vallien, if you click "Glas" on the below website (which is Bertil Vallien's own) and click through 10-15 pages in the pop-up you find it. The signature is probably fake and doesn't make sense, as the number after the "/" should be related to the size in some way if it were a Höglund piece.

M, only those designs made in varying sizes have the /xxx for size.

I wonder why someone would apply a fake signature like this one...
Any difference in value if it was designed by Höglund instead of Vallien?
Maybe the "H" doesn't refer to Höglund but to something completely different?

Funny thing I just remembered: my parents own a smaller candy jar, slithly different shape, with a simple knob without the "ears", in exactly the same colour, complete with Boda/Afors label plus Bertil Vallien label (bought in the 1960s); does it belong to the same range?

Anyway, a nice addition to my Scandi collection

A few months ago prices suddenly jumped wildly for certain Erik Hoglund items on ebay, possibly as a result of some publicity on TV. Prices seem back to the previous levels now but it may be that whoever added the signature thought it would increase the 'value'.

I bought it at a fleamarket from an elderly collector who has been living in Denmark for a long time. He returns to Austria once a year and sells some of his glass here.
As his prizing was reasonable (I paid 12,- Euro for the jar, and most of his other items like several nice Per Lütken Holmegaard pieces were in the range of 20 - 30 Euros) I would guess he wouldn't have had any reason to fake a signature; so who knows when and by whom it was applied...
