Red Foil Bowl ( or Ashtray )
« on: October 03, 2011, 01:03:56 AM »
 :hi:

This is my New addition here.  I have an orange one something like this already, and I know other members also have this same sort of bowl -- as it is a Common one.  For reference only, I am adding this.  I think it is an ashtray first, but now some call them bowls.  As there are 5 rests spots, controlled bubbles, swirls, flecks and a polished bottom with wear.  It is 7 inches wide, and 2.5 inches tall.

I love Glass with the sparkles in it.  I must be a *sparkly* type of gal..... :24:

I guess I should still ask if this is this Murano/Venetian, or Avem?  Thanks  :kissy:

I would say definitely Murano glass, but by who, I don't know. AVeM first came to mind, followed by other possibilities. It's a pretty bowl with the colored rim. Amazing what a little heat can do to color.

I bought a similar bowl at an estate sale recently and wondered it it is AVeM.  Another company that came to mind is Fratelli Toso but who knows without a label.  Both our bowls are very pretty though.

Alison bought me a similar bowl about 5 years ago and we use it to hold Garlic and Chillies in the Kitchen.

Would be interested in finding out more about it but don't have any high hopes.

Clean and Crisp a Murano twist.
Archimede tops my list.

lol.....we will *hunt* for a labeled piece here, and see if anything can be found.  I must say so myself, I do see these lots too even around here at Shows.  There has to be some labeled ones somewhere...   :24:

I've seen the exact type with a generic Murano label but no maker unfortunately.     :thud:

 :hi:

I was just cruising the Net here -- and found this bowl on Fleabay with a label, *CLICK here    I know a lot of these types of bowls have been posted here, without any true/positive ID -- So I just thought I would post the above link here to *see* if that is of any importance at all, as not sure.

So just throwing it out there for your viewing, and any opinions of that one with a label......  Thanks  :kissy:
