Topic: Large Uranium Flower frog with Patent No

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone here knows the maker of this flower frog. It has got an impressed mark on the glass Patent No 436637?

The top measures at approximately 15cm in diameter x 8cm tall

Another question is, is this flower frog meant to sit on a vase or a centrepiece / float bowl??

More Bagley, but at work so I haven't got my book. Yes it's a flower support. Does it fit the Pontefract bowl?

Brenton — As Christine says, Bagley.   ... and a great rarity.   It is supposed to fit in your 3013 bowl to make up the three piece 3013 8½" flower set, first advertised PG 1 April 1936.   Its proper name is The New Mushroom Flower Displayer according to Bagley's PG advertisement of 1 August 1936.

Numbers:

The 1 August 1936 advertisement gives Regd. No. 802118,

Bowey & Parsons, 2004 gives Regd. Nos. 802118 and 802723 of April and May 1935,

Jim Edgley's blue book doesn't list either,

Your piece carries a Patent No. 436637, new to me.

Note that no British manufacturer has ever used the dreadful f word, which can leads you to some ridiculous expressions such as pelican f**g, squirrel f**g, and nude lady f**g, for example.   I would be grateful if you would try to keep to flower block, displayer, support, holder &c., at least here on the GMB.

Hi again....Sorry about that...will use flower block then. I'm sure it says Patent NO 43663 something., but anyway, at least I now know the maker. Thanks heaps
