please help ID
« on: October 16, 2011, 08:08:49 AM »
I am not sure, but  I think it is Murano.
Perhaps Fratelli Toso?

I will sell it on EBAY.
What will be the value?
Thanks and regards.

Your post might do better with a more relevant title, see here for why:

Your title simply says "please help ID" - which to be honest tells us nothing. Describe the item in a way that will catch the eye of someone who may know. Many folks don't look at topics which simply say "please help ID" as most folks who come here want to know what an item is. My Help topic link above explained clearly how to write a better title.

Very kind of you!
I am German and understand less then 50% what you mean!
I do not need any more help from you or the board because I do not want it.

What Anne was kindly trying to point out, is that if you made your title, for instance: "please help ID - is this bowl Murano / Fratelli Toso?" then people who are into that kind of glass, are more likely to click on the topic and help you out, rather than passing it by.

Hi casalibre,  the title is the bit that catches our attention....like an eBay listing title.  If you were to put something like
'Is this a 'tuttifrutti' dish and possibly a Fratelli Toso piece?'  then all the Murano boffins would be looking at it......
Do you see what Anne means now?  It just helps you to get a quicker, wider audience for your piece.
We tend not to give valuations, but once you have more information about it,  you will be better able to judge it against other pieces that have sold on eBay and make a price decision for yourself.

Ooops!  Sorry Wayne we have just clashed a little with timing, but basically have the same message.  :)

Umm you do realise every reply has been a polite attempt to help you?  I'm not sure why you have turned abusive.   For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure it is Murano, but I doubt it is Fratelli Toso.  Someone with more knowledge might know more.  They are more likely to find this topic and give you a definite answer if the title was improved, which is what we are trying to say.
