Small Venini 'Fasce' Bowl
« on: October 18, 2011, 12:21:23 PM »
I've seen these bowls attributed to Bianconi, but can't find reference to them in Deboni (entirely possible I'm just overlooking it!).

The label's marked with number 984, which doesn't look to tie in with Venini's form system (as per the catalogues). I've only one other piece of Venini with this style of label, but that's almost entirely obliterated so I don't know what the standard numbering used on it is.

Any clues for designer / year of design? Many thanks for looking.

Apologies for the iffy lighting in the photos - we're having work done and I literally had a few seconds to take the shots before the carpenter kicked me out of the room.  ;D

Ah, just spotted three pieces from the same series in the current Quittenbaum Murano catalogue - Fulvio Bianconi design, 1951.

Cheers, Max. It was a surprise find in the junk sale of a local auction house.  :D

For reference, with better lighting this time and a clearer shot of the label.
