Yes! I think I found myself a Suhajek...
« on: October 21, 2011, 07:47:45 AM »
Found this one lurking at the forgotten corners of Marktplaats where it had been for sale for over a month - for a price that was steep for an unknown (luckily the owners had no clue what it was) but actually cheap for a Moser Suhajek vase... I wasn't sure until the moment I got it at home, but it certainly looks like the genuine article. Too bad it isn't marked, but then again, if it had said Moser at the base, it would probably have been sold a long time a go for a higher price...

It's a big and bold piece, 20 cm high.

I'm very very happy with my new addition. It's certainly a classy vase! And the first picture taken with my new camera (the old one having been stolen last month, sigh),

Astrid

Astrid, that is wonderful!   :rah:

I never realized they were big pieces.  It must look extra gorgeous when the light plays on it.  Lucky lady!
I'm VERY happy for you!!!

P.S.  I'm sorry to hear that your camera was stolen.
P.P.S. Here's one from Jindrich's site which is very similar to yours:    Jiří Å uhájek

Hi Astrid, :hi: What a beautiful Summery sunshine piece of art glass......I absolutely love it! You lucky lucky lady!
You joy is quite understandable,  and you will be pleased to know that in looking through Anik's link to Jindrich's album,  I have solved a mystery of my own!
For ages I have had a very nice piece of glass that I always assumed was Scandi,  but it is this: https://picasaweb.google.com/Jindra8526/JiriSuhajek1989?authkey=Gv1sRgCN67hqiExqi4FQ#5443643679292828402 but in the green and clear colourway.

I would never have known if it wasn't for you and Anik,  so a thousand thankyous to you both.

Enjoy your beautiful bowl and your new camera that takes great pictures by the way. ( Sorry your other was stolen )

Rosie.

That's my dream Suhajek Moser piece!

I missed one recently  - on sale in Germany, it went for only £99, but I can't pay overseas sales so couldn't bid.

I will meet Jiri on 3rd November in Nový Bor, he opens there his exhibition in Ajeto Modern Glass Museum.
I will tell him that you are happy with his work, he surely will be glad and proud.

Mr. Suhajek certainly should feel proud of having created such marvellous works. I would be happy to have a look at his exhibition - sadly, my possibilities for travelling to the Czech Republic are limited at this time... but I hope you will enjoy it for me, Jindrich (and you know a few pictures on your site would always be welcome :)

 :hi:

"Happy" is a bit inadequate Jindrich!   ;D

My entire collection of glass is incomplete until I manage to acquire one of these pieces - it is a piece of utmost importance - a dream to aspire to - it would be a pinnacle of my collection if I find one.

His work is absolutely fabulous!  :smg:
