Good Glass Bottle Information Sites
« on: March 03, 2006, 06:26:32 PM »
Hi,  :)

Does anyone know of any good bottle sites where I can find out about an old bottle? Or is there anyone who uses this message board who knows or collects old bottles?  I think mines an old chemist onion (?) bottle, but dont know anything about it.

Many thanks, Sarah  :)

Piccy of bottle and the underneath:

It measures about 30cm high, the base is about 13cm and the widest part is about 20cm.

Thanks  :)

I don't know any sites but... that bottle reminds me of Bristol Blue bottles with gilt names on the side.

What colour is it?  :?

I'm sure somebody will find a good site for you.  :)

Hi tigerchips,  :)

The bottle is black and when you hold it up to the light you can sort of see through it and its got a green tinge to it. Thanks for the help. Sarah  :)

Its ok now. Found a great site which had a message board too. Gave me some great words for my listing to describe it too - I hadnt a clue, apparently its rather old (late 18th / early 19th century).  :) Fingers crossed it will sell.

Any chance you could post a link to the site you found, or give it to Anne for her yobunny archives? Please?
