Wine Goblets
« on: November 03, 2011, 11:01:42 PM »
Hello Fellow Glass Nuts,
I plan to make part of my glass collection smaller (goblets) so that another part can grow larger (covered glass animals).
Can anyone ID these 3 and hazard a guess on their current worth?--I've had them for so long I haven't got a clue. One is Steuben, and the one with the applied silver at the rim and on the foot is Heisey (anyone recognize the pattern?), but the third ... ? It has gorgeous berries of different sorts, which I photographed badly, I'm afraid. Perhaps it's Victorian, or Georgian (Dutch?) or even Lalique? Well, any brilliant help would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Jane

Once more with feeling. The Heisey.
(It's been a long day. Sorry.)

Jane, I LOVE your glasses!  :o :D  But value?  Who can say!  I collect this sort of glass, and have paid anything between £2 and £20 for some, and seen others that I'd love to own but can't afford sell for up to £200 and more!  :spls:

I reckon you need to get expert (as in Auction House) advice if you want a realistic valuation and a good price!

I particularly love the one engraved with berries.  I'll give you £20 for that one!      :pb:

Hi Jane,
another idea is to take your glasses along to a good antiques or glass fair, they often need to be handled to
get a good idea of age , origin and value.
Try the Birmingham Glass Fair, next week!
