Please excuse me all, but my English is not very well and all what you are saying on the board drives me crazy!
I have no UV!
I have just bought this weight in Germany and it is on the way to me by shipping and has not arrived till now.
I am buying weights by intuition.
More like : in an conservative way : looking of structures and how like the item looks like.
Of course, when I saw the weight, my first intention was: this weight is YSART!
But is it:
Salvadore
Vasart
Paul?
For me it would be very, very  interesting, how you vote here on the board what it could be:
30% Salvadore ?
40% Vasart ?
30% Paul?
Please let me know!
Kind regards.
Helene

Just for a colour test, because many different people see colours differently, what colour is on the outside of the centre ring of canes? This is a serious question. Regards Roger.

Thank you, its a good start, my wife says blue as you but I see a blue/purple. Getting back to the weight in question I believe there were many tiny bubbles in PYs earlier(pre-war) weights although this looks a very clear glass denoting  a later time. But of course I am still of the opinion it was made by PY, unless of course anyone can show me an Ysart bros that is as well made.
Helene, is there a tint to the glass or not? Regards Roger.

How about these ...

http://www.btinternet.com/~kevh.glass/pages/salv-ybros/detail-concentric-08.htm

They are all better than the average Ysart Brothers weight - and although some of those above might actually have been made in the 1930s, the evidence I have so far supports an Ysart Brothers period.

One other point is that Helene's weight could possibly be Vasart Ltd - but using earlier canes! But I seriously doubt a PY attribution.

Thanks Kevin, I thought you would come up with the necessary info and I have looked at them all, yep they're pretty good aren't they---------I concede. :thud: As I mentioned before this is a discussion board so that was definetely a discussion from which I and others have learnt more about the subject.
Getting back to the weight in question it looks very clear glass unless its the lighting effect. Would you say there are Salvador weights with a good clarity of glass. I don't have any Salvador weights so I couldn't say.

Yes, several of the items I have which I considser to be by Salvador Ysart, have good glass; i.e. not too tinted and with very few stray bubbles and often free of striations. In fact, many of the the regular Vasart bottles (with the striped necks and well section) also have good quality glass and workmanship.

However, the daily production weights from the Ysart Brothers period can vary greatly in quality, even many of those probably made by Salvador - but they were simply bread & butter gift items, not intended to be "art glass" pieces.
