I have three pieces in that particular shape. One is in black glass with metallic decoration and it is Czech. One is Bulgarian and is a contender for ugly piece of the year. And one is from Mikasa designed by Michael Lax.
So as far as the shape goes, it may have been invented over and over again by various makers.

Thank you both  :)  I'm going to concentrate on searching out Czech pieces to start with.  Ivo thanks also for the name Michael Lax - he designed some very interesting pieces.  His name rings a bell but I'd never really investigated any of his work.

I've not had any luck on searching for this bowl so far.  The only thing that comes remotely similar in terms of decor and the way the colour is laid on or used is a small signed Schneider bowl.  If you hold them up to the light together they are very close in the way they are made.  However the colours of the large bowl are just very slightly different.
I'll get a pic of them together and a close up of the colour fluffy effect that is clearer.
Is there any way this piece could be French 30's? - I have found a Daum bowl in the same double walled shape so the shape seems ok I think  :-\  maybe?

Just to add not that I think it is Daum...only that I've seen the shape made by them and that was one of the things that made me think perhaps not French until I found that.

Wondering if this might end up being something like La Rochere is it?

Just to throw another name in the mix, Cumbrian glassmaker Adrian Sankey made some pieces in this shape, which they call Pillow candleholders, the ones I have seen are plain colours. I haven't seen cased glass by them though...  although AS now only makes lighting glass one of his old catalogues is still online as an archive reference: http://www.glassmakers.co.uk/archive/
