This Caithness vase is alexandrite or neodymium. It changes from blue to lilac under different lighting conditions.

It is signed on the base but I cannot read the name. Hopefully someone with good knowledge can help.

The word is Harebells from the etched design, signature more likely to be the engraver than designer?

I suspect the other is WB = Willie Bain and that he has used the final upstroke of the W as the downstroke of the B.

Thank you both so much.
I'm no botanist and could only think of bluebells and snowdrops. I have never heard of Harebells.

Thanks for the nod to Willie Bain. I would never have seen that. I could see LB but it didn't look quite right.

Thanks again. This isn't my thing so will put it on ebay this weekend.

Harebells and bluebells ain't the same thing at all... although in Scotland the Harebell is called the Bluebell, so it would more properly be a Scottish Bluebell. :). Harebells are very pretty and much more delicate than the English bluebells, which are gloriously sturdy rampant things!

NO comment (have a Scottish ex)
I'm thinking of butting bulbs in my front lawn of meadow grass. I want bluebells (English - now they have been given such an accolade) and snowdrops. Anyone know of gloriously sturdy, rampant snowdrops?

Snowdrops are glorious sturdy and rampant anyhow! My garden is full of them and they survive everything! Mine are the semi-doubles and they are gorgeous.
