Need help with ID Please!!!!!
« on: December 11, 2011, 02:16:30 PM »
Hi everyone. I am new to this forum and I am wandering if someone could help me identify the maker or the worth of these pieces. I picked them up at an estate auction from a deceased doctor. He had a lot of collections, clocks, glassware, furniture, etc. He also had this so I thought it might be worth something, Plus my grand daughter made me bid on them. Anyway I would greatly appreciate any help you could give me.
I hope the pictures help, I could give closeups if needed.

Thanks in advance

Woody

Hello Woody, welcome to the Glass message board.

It would be best if you listed these as separate pieces, so that if they end up being by different makers,  each member who specialises in them can comment and there will be no mix up.
A good photo of the base is also very helpful, so there you go, a bit of homework for you.... a couple of pictures if each (at least) and listing them separately, with a title that sort of defines them...ie. 'Egg shaped golden paperweight', or 'Flowery oval paperweight', so that it is easier to reference back to in the search section.

Thank You Rosie
I will do that. There is nothing on the bases except for the egg shaped one.

Hi Woody,  sometimes the way the bases are finished tells a lot about a glass piece, so still worth doing....good luck.

From the image you have posted they all look like modern Chinese to me.
