orrefors bowl - who?

Seen this bowl in one of our local shops and finally decided to take it home aftr seeing an almost identical one on the Skruf site. To my surprise it is signed Orrefors - just the sig is lost kn the soft scratch band. I found one identical one on e-bay which was wrongly identified as Mayflower by Jan Johansson. it is also not Fleur, Orion or Corona. Any suggestions?

This basic pattern comes in many sizes and diameters (I have about 4 myself) and I always thought it to be Corona. Why are you so sure it is not Corona?

Because i also have Corona bowls and they are really very different . For one thing they do not have the pronounced spikey ribs. Also all Corona bowls I have seen are stamped/blasted not needle etched.

I agree it is definitely NOT Corona - another myth bites the dust(inside my head) :pb:
It is a Sven Palmqvist design but I have yet to track its pattern name - but it is so common it surely has a name. I found two of mine in the garage. The one with the felt scratch svaers was particularly clear. The other looked like CP rather than SP but is virtually the twin of the other one.

Yes, thanks also Daniel. My two I quickly found had ID strings starting with both SP and CP and on Google I found a picture of two that started with CP and R. Can you explain why they did not start consistently with SP, please.

Well this is intriguing. :spls: I have more than four of these BUT here are photos o0f the item and of the signature of each. You will see that three of the four are clearly signed CP and on the one with bumpers is clearly SP. A mystery to me as I never really looked that closely before.
