Czech Painted Glass Vase ID?
« on: January 20, 2012, 10:40:54 AM »
Hello, I am excited to have purchased this and I am sure that with your collective expertise we can figure out if I got something nice here.  Thank you...

The vase stands about 12" tall.   It is painted green with gold gilt and high relief enamel flowers.  And lots of ruffles!  The foil label says "Handmade Bohemia Czech Republic."

It seems to be very well-made, carefully painted and using authentic techniques, so I don't think it's a fake from China.  I've learned a few lessons...

That said, it is very clean and seems new.

There are no marks or signatures.

Here is the picture.  And again, thank you all.

Hi and welcome to the board  :sun:
Your vase is very pretty - I would say that with the label stating Czech Republic that is where it was made and in the last 20years or so. Is it possible for you to reload the picture so it blows up to a larger size please as it is difficult to see the detail?  I'm sure someone will be along who will be able to help with a maker  :)

I would have thought Bohemia is sufficient pointer? Main factory doing high rise enamel and gold in the Bohemia group was Egermann - that is where I would start looking.

Thanks!  Great info on where to continue my search.  I never trust stickers as I've been burned before so it is nice to see that it seems to be really made in the Czech Republic.  I haven't seen anything else like it yet but I'll check into the catalogs mentioned.

Thanks again to all.

Erin
