Murano ? Confetti Cane Twist Loop Handled Basket

Satin glass basket with multicolored canes on outside with a satin twist loop handle.  It is 5.5 inches tall, 5.25 inches long and 3.5 inches wide.

Maker? Age?

I am fairly certain this is Murano from 1950-70 era.  It came from the same estate as those 2 paperweights I posted in the paperweight forum.

There was also an egg shaped paperweight and a whale made with these colorful canes.  The egg (I think) had a Murano foil label.  I didn't buy either of these. The whale went for more than I was comfortable with spending not knowing the item.  The egg didn't appeal to me but I probably should have bought it just for the label  :?

Thank you for any and all comments  :)

I'd have said Gentile!    :?

Have a look at http://verredart.atspace.com/G.html  and see what you think  :?

Perhaps the basket is by John Gentile. And perhaps it's Murano.

Certainly, the canes in the basket and the "spatter" weights in the verredart website have the same look. And I can find one definite cane match between the basket and those weights.

Maybe Gentile is one of the modern makers who use Murano canes.

Are all Gentile items marked on the base with an impressed stamp? If so, then if the basket is not marked, it probably is not Gentile.

No mark on the base.  I looked then double checked after Simone suggested Gentile.  I looked up Gentile and found they marked the pieces.

So where does that leave me

I just realized that my photo of the bottom is not.  I usually cut & paste and I must have forgotten to change the number on the file on the last one above.  I can't correct now because I am not at home and I don't know which number it is.  I took 10 shots of the basket

Bumping up.

I corrected the last link in my initial post and now it really is the bottom of the basket

What a coincidence.

This was just posted on AB forums

http://www.auctionbytes.com/forum/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=18724

John Gentile died last week.

I still don't think my basket is by them.

More info:

I found this basket on eBay - which looks just like mine.

The seller has this webpage

http://members.aol.com/etc5244/Millefiori.html

Scroll down and you will see some with red and gold foil labels.  I am fairly certain that is the label on one of the other pieces from this same estate.
