Topic: Vaseline Glass Perfume Bottle

This is about 6.5" tall with the stopper.  It was blown into a mold I think and has a ground and polished pontil mark.  It glows well. It looks like there may be some numbers or letters scratched into the bottom of the stopper but I can't make them out.  Any ideas?  Thanks

Anyway, someone told me this was Boston Sandwich glass.  Any ideas?

Scott, pleas use our easy upload facility when you post items for ID.  Not only does it ensure that your images will register properly on the board, it means that any information our members give you will be kept with the images for posterity which is the whole point of the gmb.  PHotobucket links expire over time leaving the glass message board with useless information due to missing photos.

Hi Max. I did use your "easy upload facility" when I posted these and other questions.  I went back over several days and great pictures appeared. I wait a week after no replies and go back and find my photos are now links in parenthesis.  What's up??

You didn't use our attach facility. You can only attach copies of images actually on your computer. You cannot attach through an external source such as Photobucket. That just creates a link with a thumbnail. External hosting of pictures and thumbnails has been disabled although the links themselves are still allowed but not preferable.

The img tag support has been turned off as many of the images displayed in this way were causing viewing issues for members. Large images displayed in posts are not visible on smaller screens, whereas links are usable. If you leave off the img tag the links will be clickable. It's the disabled tag that causes the bracketing, and I've removed them from your links above. However, attaching images to the board as suggested is the preferred method please.  :thup:

sorry but can't help with attribution - although your comments regarding scratched Nos. on the stopper might possibly be the factory matching nos.     If you look around the area of the top/neck, alternatively possibly in the area of what you are describing as the "polished pontil mark", you might find identical nos./marks to match those on the stopper.          If it was blown into a mould, then it may possibly not have a pontil mark  -  are you able to find seam marks on the body (indicating it was blown) - and if possible, may we see a picture of the base of the body please
