My latest Archimede Seguso purchase
« on: February 14, 2012, 11:20:04 PM »
Hi All - just thought some of you might like to see my latest perfume bottle 19cm (7.5") tall.  I picked up the large alabastro bottle in western NSW about 3 years ago and I have been looking for both a replacement stopper for it (impossible) and anything else in this style. In 3 weeks 2 of these alabastro perfume atomisers became available from different sellers on ebay. Weird isn't it?

  Very Nice!!

Maybe the tinkernet world has just helped people ID more items so they become more readily available (??)  Yours has the original label on it -- so that is what matters.

Did the others one like this you see also have labels?

I think (IMHO) Ebay/internet has helped people figure out what they have.  So it might be just coincidence and the timing (??)

Hi Kane no this came from the USA (lovely sellers) like most good glass.
Makes you realise how amazingly wealthy the USA was in the mid 20th century.

Hi Rose lovely to hear from you.
Not sure if it had its label or not as I had just bought this one when it came up. The seller of mine didn't mention the label or put a photo of it on ebay. So this was a pleasant surprise.

At the same time another piece of A.S. glass came up in the USA and it was the same design as a piece I bought in Australia for peanuts about a year ago but could not i.d. so I may have had a good couple of weeks. Will put this note on the other item I posted here.

Very true ardy. Glad you braved the shipping costs too LOL..The last thing I have brought from the U.S was the A.S Drioli bottle. Find it very hard to hit the buy button on U.S items...

Hi Kane - the sellers sent it normal post for $20 which is very reasonable compared to the sign for version of double that price. I am amazed how much shipping costs have risen in the USA. There was a nice piece of AS glass available but the shipping cost of nearly $100 killed it for me.
