Trevaise? Tiffany? Durand? Loetz? Modern?
« on: March 13, 2006, 01:00:41 AM »
The help we had in identifying our Loetz was much appreciated.  So here is a new puzzle.  This 10" baluster shape vase has a fabulous irridescence.  The pattern is that of Tiffany damascene lamps, but we are fairly confident it is not Tiffany (from internal color and the pontil which is broken off but depressed).  We don't discount it could be Tiffany but think it more likely it is of the same era by someone else.  Suggestions are Durand or Trevaise.  It is not signed.  It may be modern but whatever the maker it is a lovely piece with 8 ridges, an amazing mix of silver, purple and other irridescent colors that would take considerable skill, and equipment to make.
