I thought I'd post some more photos, including a close-up of the hole. It seems to change from being a penguin to a parrot to a toucan in a matter of seconds.   :-\

JP, I accidentally overlooked your post.  Maybe you're right.  Or maybe I should have a drink myself... I might just discover that what I've really got is a fancy-shmancy "object d'art" that is meant to stimulate the mind and senses as an allegory of nature's tragic quietus in the hands of man.

Or maybe not. ;)

EDITED TO ADD:  JP, now we've cross-posted...

Anik, I think the abstract shape makes this a really intriguing piece!
(It is the most stylized glass animal I have seen so far :))

@Rosie: I'm sorry to tell you that when I walked past the shopwindow today the hedgehog wasn't there anymore...

Thank you, Michael...  and I agree, it is intriguing.  I know it doesn't matter what kind of animal it's supposed to be, but it would be nice to find reference to the glassworks and designer.  Maybe one day...

Whatever it is Anik  it will always provoke compliments and discussion, and one day you never know,  you might find another one so similar with a label that it all becomes clear!!
Just enjoy it and let it make you smile!!

@ Michael.....sorry to hear that.....I would have liked it for a special reason......if it comes back on display again,  please will you let me know?
Rosie. :)
