Wanted: Caithness Shipwreck paperweight
« on: February 16, 2012, 10:18:19 PM »
Mod: Please see http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,45508.0.html in the Paperweights forum for information on the Shipwreck paperweight.

If anybody is interested in selling their SHipwreck paperweight I would be really interested.  My dad has been after this paperweight for as long as I can remember (when I was a child) and I am 40 now!  That's a long time to be wishing for something.  Every year when we ask him what he would like for birthday/Christmas he says "Shipwreck" Lol!  Well, it's a long shot, but if you are let me know!  I would love to see his face if he opened a present and found that inside!
He is passionate about paperweights!

Hi. I think you will need deep pockets for your Dad's present: Ian is correct on pricing. You can expect to pay around £1000 for one...

On hind sight of course I bought it at the right price (£227) but should not have sold it at the same price!!!!!!!!!!!      Personally I did not find it very enthralling even if it was a very difficult weight to make. Roger.

I think if that is what it costs then that is what will have to be paid.  He has wanted this for too long, I want to put him out of his misery! He's spent a lot more money than that on me over the years, and I'm sure my two sisters will want to chip in, and my mum, just to see that look on his face!
So...if anybody out there wants to sell one, then I would like to buy it!

Hi Natasiabluebell, welcome to the Board.

I have split your request and the replies from the original thread in Paperweights (which was not originally about the Shipwreck weight) and moved it here where hopefully it will get a wider audience.
