To be or not to be...a paperweight
« on: February 18, 2012, 09:45:01 AM »
Is this an ornament or a paperweight?
http://www.bohaglass.co.uk/shop/ornaments/remi-krukas-teggno-decorative-glass-ornament/
Describing it as an ornament seems more accurate, but more people are searching for paperweights.
It is more than heavy enough to weigh down paper - but what are the rules?

What is the true definition of a paperweight?

Help please!

Without being able to give a "definition" for what constitutes a paperweight, I would say - this is one.

You should correct the name, however: Kriukas.
BTW - the full given name is Remigijus.

Double Thanks Wuff.

My Lithuanian does not go beyond hi (Labas) and goodbye (Sogaru).

I actually misspelled his name on purpose to stop traffic leakage. He has a great website and 'knows his onions' when it comes to SEO

Hi Boha Glass, welcome to the GMB.

Although the general question of whether something is a paperweight is fascinating and could generate a lengthy and varied discussion, the item shown is a current sales listing and as such belongs here on the Market Place forum. So I have put on my Moderator hat and made the move.

Hi BohaGlass:

The item you refer to *kinda* reminds me of the item I had posted HERE    I asked the same question there IF that was a PW or a decorative piece.  IMHO, I could see it sitting on a desk for a larger PW.  As IMHO, it is a Decorative piece but also (IMHO) a paperweight.....just larger.

????
