Hello again from The Netherlands. Sorry we haven't been able to contribute much to recent discussions on the board but we are still lurking! ;-)
In the last year we've been able to make quite a lot of progress with our research when it comes to Belgian glass factories. As a result we've already substantially updated our pages on Doyen and Boom and have published new pages about Scailmont and de Winner. We are slowly confirming more information about the smaller and lost factories and have been able to identify a number of substantial errors in the literature.
The Belgian section starts at:
http://www.hogelandshoeve.nl/index45.htmlIn the next few weeks we will be adding new pages about the Verreries du Centre (Vercent) and Verreries et Gobleteries Nouvelle (VGN) and expect that the stream of new information will continue due to increasing interest from collectors.
We are keen to hear from anyone on GMB who can contribute to these areas of knowledge, particularly if you can help us with (publishable) photos of items which are labelled or marked for the Belgian factories.
In 2012 and 2013 there will be several new books published and accompanying exhibitions about factories which were little known previously.
If you are interested in these developments (and to those who previously found Belgian factories impossible to research, or asked us questions which we couldn't answer) please visit our site, take a look at developments and see if you can help us to extend and share our knowledge.
