Pink Pressed Glass Cheese Dish
« on: March 15, 2006, 08:12:14 PM »
Hi,
I wondered if any of the pressed glass experts (or anyone else  ) knew this one (I think a cheese dish rather than butter?) that I picked up a couple of days ago. It has a very chunky feel and typical "art deco" styling (I'm assuming 1930sish).

I found a listing on eBay, which looks the same, described as "depression cut glass". My dish is certainly not cut glass.

eBay item 7391585822

Grateful for any help!

Pamela,
Thanks for your reply—here's another I've just found, described as "Sowerby", but no reference—
ebay 7395514142
I did see another cheese dish yesterday, clear glass, chipped (so I didn't buy!) the lid was different (but with a similar feel), the base from the same mould as the pink one.
