No way! Very familiar with most of their portraits and neither fit. His outfit looks a little ecclesiastic. Italian perhaps?

now that IS a good guess. I got them from the neapolitan around the corner. I've never come across portrait busts from Italy before - just from Riedel which this is not. We carefully checked the ecclesiastical looking outfit for dangling symbols of Christianity, but can only see a single row of buttons. The lady does not look as if she is religious inspired, either: in her outfit she would not be allowed inside the Duomo..

I can't see your picture of "Joe Green", but your bust thing looks nothing like my picture of him, which shows Verdi had a great hook nose, which pointed down towards his chin. The parting in his hair is on his right.

Frank is right that it's not Edward VII / Alexandria but I can see why it the lady might be thought to be Alexandria.

For confirmation on what Alexandria looked like, here's some images of a 19th century Copeland parian bust I have:

The hairstyle for Ivo's lady is very similar, and therefore presumably of the same period, but Alexandria's hair did not cover her ears. Also, the facial features are not the same.

When I first saw Ivo's image, I thought the gentleman looked Russian!

A good quick way for finding busts is through stamp catalogues, generally, most countries issue series of their historical figures. Best to browse at some in s/h bookshops to find one that illustrates well. Or in a library.
