Michael, thank you for the kind words.  By the way, I love the bird -- I bid on one last week, but the price went much higher than I was able to pay.  Maybe one day...

Sue, I suppose what you say is possible, but the Gralglas book was published by Museum Kunstpalast.  Both the book and the CD include catalogues -- I'm just wondering why Wiedmann's beautiful candleholders (or this ashtray) aren't anywhere to be found.

I'm going to make a stupid observation now as I haven't done a check before I ask, but were these definitely Karl Wiedmann for Gralglas or were they design he did for WMF maybe?

Anik´s candleholders with the same decoration were positively identified by
Günther Hofmann, another important Gralglas designer, during a phone call
I had with him last year.
There also comes a similar vase. Unfortunately these objects don´t seem to
be covered in Gralglas book, but perhaps they are shown in the Wiedmann
exhibition catalogue - which escapes me for ages now...  :(
