Are they called 'swizzel' sticks?  My daughter's friend bought her a modern cocktail glass, shaker and glass 'swizzel' stick  to go with a bottle of bubbly for her 21st.  No where near as nice as yours though :P

I think swizzle sticks have blobby ends not pointy ones. I have three blobby-ended parrots given to me in the 1980s

Those are very cool, Ivo.

In the US, cocktail sets were extremely popular in the 1950s.  Many were decorated with cocks/cockrels as a play on words.
