At last! A vase with an applied beach towel!
« on: March 18, 2006, 10:44:03 PM »
I seem to be the only one in my family that likes this. It reminds me of a beach with a bright sunny blue sky and all. Not an English beach though.

Really thick heavy glass with an applied, um, strap of glass around the middle.

IMHO, I would have expected a better finish to the base. The base is slightly frosted. I presume this means it hasn't been polished? A few bubbles in the glass too.

Please don't say Chinese. Well, okay, you can say Chinese if you want to.

Chinese is good as it sells quite well at my local Antique Fair.  8)

Any ideas? Thank you.  :)

Good piece, great colours, nice shape. Have you thought of doing something about your family?

Looks like an unsigned Unica - well it has to be, there can not be a second like it... Country of origin - maybe Britain, maybe Belgium, maybe Poland.
works especially well with daffodils.

I'd send them to a good home, but they're not old enough yet.

Thanks, i'm glad it's not just me that likes it.  :o

I especially like the way the blue bits shine up onto the rim (etc) giving it a slight blue tint inside the clear glass. I got it from the same place as my Colin Brown vase so perhaps it's from a collector of modern studio glass.  :D

Here's the long explanation:

On the "Post A Reply" page:
Click on Img button
Click on Img button again.
Highlight
Click on URL button
Add an = after the first Url

It should look like this

Frank has given a clue as to where to paste the links. Paste the large picture link first and then the thumbnail picture link.
