Magnor Vase
« on: March 24, 2012, 03:00:46 PM »
Medium sized vase in deep honey colour cased in clear glass with thick walls and moulded and polished hole in polished base for bubble type effect. Label 'Magnor Norway' to side. Anyone any information on this lesser known company or its designers?

I've always assumed that these Magnor pieces were derivatives of Erkki Vesanto's design for iittala.

Hi

In Norway, Magnor is usually seen as a poor man’s Hadeland. Their pieces were/are rarely signed, and the designers’ names are seldom available. Anyway, I suggest this:

Hi Keith

The link is to an exhibition at an auction house/gallery. Not much info on Magnor anywhere else, I'm afraid. Sorry.

Keith if you search though using Wendelboe auctions, which is an excellent source of some gorgeous glass, you may come up with auctions that show other Magnor pieces.  It probably still wont help you but you'll see some wonderful eye-candy along the way  :)
mbmb that's interesting to know - thanks  :)
