Monart vase, style X
« on: March 19, 2006, 05:02:59 AM »
I have a Monart vase, style X, in autumnal colours, dating from the period 1924-1930. Its dimensions are 5.75" high; 9.25" diameter. I would like to sell this piece but have no real idea of what should be a reasonable price - one that is fair to both buyer and seller. I had planned to sell it on eBay some time ago, but with no idea of where to start or where to reserve it, I just put it back in the cupboard. I have photos of the vase, and the Moncrieff/Monart lable which is almost perfect (a small scratch only).

I would sincerely appreciate any advice.

I would not worry about reserve, while the colouring is of the more common this is the only known example of this variant shape. The same piece is shown in the catalogue http://www.ysartglass.com/Moncat/Page01vary.htm

There will be sufficient competition on eBay to ensure the best price. Start it at 99p for the lowest cost and the greatest amount of fun.
